Dr. John D. Kemp presented Understanding Why Disability Issues Must Matter to Educators – Honoring Disability Culture.  John Kemp is Executive Director of the Viscardi Center in Long Island New York, has a Juris Doctorate and has received numerous awards from both national organizations and government agencies.  This presentation gave special education professionals a greater perspective and degree of mindfulness as Dr. Kemp shared specific examples from his experience and writings such as “advice that people with disabilities want all parents to have about parenting”.
